CHILD of GOD & ISAIAH'S PLACE INC.
We firmly believe that building a business that helps a good cause along the way is the only way to grow. We have teamed up with Isaiah's Place to help lead the effort in building and sustaining community practices to help feed and clothe our homeless brothers and sisters
What has now become known as Isaiah’s Place Inc., informally began with two families in 2015 as a monthly faith-based community service project. The purpose was to demonstrate the love of Christ, while meeting the basic needs for spiritual and physical food and clothing among our homeless neighbors.
In June 2016, members of Elim SDA Church participated in the distribution of food and toiletry items at a homeless site in St. Petersburg. Since the initial collaboration with Elim SDA church, the love of Christ has been demonstrated as Isaiah’s Place Inc. has developed into a ministry that provides hot meals twice per month (1st and 3rd Sabbath), food boxes for families in need, and clothing.
Isaiah’s Place Inc. has now grown to be a self-supporting ministry. Isaiah’s Place Inc. ministry supports the local community, multiple ministries within Elim SDA church, as well as Haiti and the Philippines with food and item distributions.
In 2017 Isaiah’s Place Inc. ministry provided 5,185 hot meals, 800 lbs of beans, 900 lbs of rice, 54 holiday baskets for needy families, 600 boxed meals, 47 pairs of shoes, blankets and clothing. Since June 2017, Isaiah’s Place Inc. ministry facilitates weekly “Word on the Street” Bible studies on the streets for our neighbors in need.
We have extended our reach in 2018 to provide 8,000 hot meals, 1,600lbs of beans, 1,600lbs of rice, 75 holiday baskets for needy families, 1,000 boxed meals, and 70 pairs of shoes.
The goal is not only to provide housing, food and clothing but to provide comprehensive solutions to homelessness through a variety of programs such as residential care, crisis intervention and stabilization, case management, personal and coordinated systems of care and supportive housing overlay programs.
